I want to see the Phillies trade for Greinke. He shouldn't cost much because of his contract and has been very solid this year with a 2.78 ERA. It would cost more but add Eduardo Escobar to the deal so he can play 3rd base. Has hit nearly .300 with 20 dingers and 20 more doubles.

Greinke and Escobar --> Phillies
Nick Williams, Parkinson, Gambia and JoJo Romero --> Dbacks

Then I do Fransisco Morales for Shane Greene. Straight up. Two trades fills 3 wholes.

Would love Greinke if he’d come. Also need to figure how Arizona can spin punting when they’re 2-3 out of wild card

Arizona has no incentive to trade Escobar. He's signed for a very reasonable 3/$21M through 2021.

I also don't think Greinke would come to Philadelphia.

Good points you guys make. What would you all do?
I forgot about Greinke no trade clause and how he made it all contenders so no body could trade for him basically.

Anyone else upset that Knapp still gets to waste important at bats here in the bigs?

Of course Grullon is injured now.

I would also like to the see them go after Starling Marte but idk what he would cost. What are some affordable packages for him and btw when does nick Williams get another shot with what he is doing in AAA

If there's simply no pitching to be had, Marte makes sense, because he helps get this offense to its best look possible, with Kingery at 3B. Hitting its way into October is the best route for this team.

Lots of teams with WS aspirations looking for starting pitching right now, including Astros & Yankees, so nothing is going to come cheaply, unless you can find that Blanton-in-the-rough. Wonder what Danny Duffy would cost from Royals. He would definitely help stabilize rotation.

Would be nice....but not gonna happen.

15 teams on his not trade list, Phil's included. Most are big market teams. He seems content to pitch in smaller markets with less prying press.

Owed balance of 31.5 Mil this year and 32 Mil. each of next 2 years.

No one is taking on that salary and giving Arizona anything in return as far as prospects go so He'll probably stay put in Phoenix, they're only a few games out of the wildcard also.

More I look around and how little is available, more I like the Duffy idea. Strike early.
