Flyers prospect scores nasty goal to kick off pro career with Phantoms
Joel Farabee wasn't able to score during the preseason as he auditioned for the Flyers.

He had chances, he rung posts, he showed his skill, he played with max effort, but production often wins jobs and the 19-year-old couldn't deliver in that facet.

It may have cost him a spot in the Flyers' 2019-20 season-opening lineup.

Think that was on his mind a little bit as he began his pro career Friday night with AHL affiliate Lehigh Valley?

In the Phantoms' 4-1 win over the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at PPL Center, Farabee scored a nasty goal off a spectacular stretch pass from Philippe Myers

How about THAT PASS!! The whole play is...

Flyers prospects to watch at the World Juniors
It’s happening folks! We’re just a few weeks out from the start of the World Juniors on the 26th, and with USA Hockey announcing their preliminary roster yesterday, we’ve finally got an idea of which Flyers prospects (and any of your favorite non-Flyers prospects) may be representing their counties in the tournament.

The Flyers, while not as strongly represented as they have been in the past couple of years, do still have a few prospects who were named to the preliminary rosters. We’ve got:...

Notable Canadian junior performers this week:

Jay O’Brien ©, Penticton Vees (BCHL)

2018 1st Round Pick, 19th overall

12/4 - 1 assist
12/6 - DNP
12/7 - DNP

Missing two games with an injury last week, the non-prospect is holding at 47 points (15 G, 32 A) in 33 games.

Mason Millman (D), Saginaw Spirit (OHL)

2019 4th Round Pick, 103rd overall

12/4 - 1 goal, 2 shots
12/6 - 10 PIM
12/7 - DNP

Weird week for Millman who got a five-minute major and a game misconduct in Friday’s game for an apparent head-check. No word if the reason he sat out Saturday is any sort of suspension related to that incident. Millman has 15 points (6 G, 9 A) in 28 games this season.

Yegor Serdyuk (RW), Victoriaville Tigres (QMJHL)

2019 6th Round Pick, 165th overall

12/5 - DNP
12/7 - 1 assist, 2 shots
12/8 - 6 shots, 2 PIM, 1 for 1 FOW

Serdyuk is FINALLY back after missing a few weeks with an injury. After a promising start to the season, a slump and injuries have really slowed him down. The 2nd year QMJHLer has 14 points (8 G, 6 A) in 20 games....

2020 World Junior Championships: Four Flyers Make Preliminary Rosters

Posted on December 13, 2019 by John Gove

The Holidays are almost upon us. For those in the hockey prospect world, that means one thing. The 2020 World Junior Championships are around the corner.

The 44th edition of the tournament begins on December 26th in the Czech Republic and runs through January 5th. This marks the fourth time the Czech Republic will host the WJC.

Last year, Philadelphia Flyers’ prospects could be found all over the place. Over the past few years, the Flyers were one of the more represented organizations at the tournament. This year, it’s a different story....

It’s kids' hockey day!
Flyers prospect watch: the World Junior Championship participants
It all starts the day after Christmas.

In Canada it may as well be the reason for the national holiday. They call Dec. 26 “Boxing Day” north of the border, when government offices and banks are closed and it’s the country’s largest shopping day. It’s also the start of the World Junior Championship, an international tournament with hockey players younger than 20, and renews a big rivalry this year: the maple leaf vs. the stars and stripes.

Flyers captain Claude Giroux has remarked on childhood memories of watching the international tournament on television that he ended up playing in 12 years ago. This season the Flyers have no Canadians in the tournament, but a pair of Americans will face Canada on Thursday.

Bobby Brink and Cam York, a pair of picks from the 2019 draft, headline a class of four Flyers prospects in the tournament. Russian defenseman Yegor Zamula and Swedish blueliner Adam Ginning are in there as well. Finland took home gold last year with the U.S. having to settle for silver....

Flyers have a thing for undrafted CHL free agent defensemen. Zamula with 2 goals in first half of opening game.
