Wouldn't it be terrific if the light was going on for Moniak.

It would be,in a word,surprising

Why? The kid needed to physically mature...he was the #1 pick...and obviously he would not have been in most years, he would have still be a top 7 pick in a lot of years. For the Phillies sake and ours, I hope the kid develops into a good player

Face it,he has been underwhelming ,witness his ranking of 12th in their system
For a #1 pick that’s pretty weak

Moniak's home runs today were off:
-- Reggie McLain, a former Phillies with a 5.81 career ERA
-- Nestor Cortes, a journeyman Yankees farmhand with a 6.72 career ERA

I agree that he has not been good to this point, but given his physically, time will take care of that in most cases. And sure his HRs were off nobodies, but we had nobodies pitching today and the Yankees got blanked...so, I dont think it is fair to belittle a good day for the kid.

Odubel is not going to go quietly it seems

I was never an Odubel fan. I was hoping this would be a reason for them to let him go. But, if he plays well, the fans will forgive and forget. They did it with Brett Myers.

Of all these guys we're discussing, the one most likely to break out -- since he's shown signs in the past of doing it -- is Kingery.

At which point you put him CF a whole bunch and just live with the defense. You can also do creative things in the late innings like putting Haseley in CF for defense and moving Kingery to 2B, if his bat is hotter than Segura's.

Easily one of the worst #1 picks ever.

Need Moniak to get 189 more hits over the course of his MLB career so that he can pass epic #1 overall failure and dog killer Shawn Abner.
